Frankly Friday: Zappa’s ‘Apostrophe (‘)’

Great googly moogly!

One of our favorite Zappa albums is ‘Apostrophe (‘)’ from 1974. The thing covers so much ground in terms of humor, musicianship and straight up rock and roll it’s a wonder that it’s not on everyone’s desert island playlist. The song structures are diverse, from well-written lyrics (Cosmik Debris/UncleRemus) to flat-out jam as evident on the tune ‘Apostrophe (‘)’ that includes Jack Bruce (he of Cream) on bass.
