TGDH: Radio City Music Hall 10-23-1980

Today in Grateful Dead History we bring you a seminal show from the days of The Reckoning. It’s an audience recording, best around, and it captures the feel inside of Radio City quite well!. The entire acoustic first set was also released as bonus material on the re-release of Reckoning. The Althea is slow and syrupy with that bopping groove. We get a little bluesy between Red Rooster and a high energy Big Rail Road (lots of nice licks to be found).  We get a soul-searching Wharf Rat and when we’re just starting to see that ray of sunshine at the end Bobby brings us back with a Sugar Mag and full on Sunshine Daydream.
