Our Story

What started in 1913 as the vision of 14 physicians to build a community hospital has turned into over a century of “Serving, Caring and Healing” at Salem Regional Medical Center. Click on the images below to explore some of the significant milestones in our hospital’s history.

• Salem Community Hospital changes its name to Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC). The new name acknowledges the hospital’s strong tradition of significant growth and expanded services, and reflects a continued commitment to providing medical services to the region as an independent, not-for-profit medical center.
• SRMC’s new 87-bed Patient Private Room Tower opens.
2017
2017
• SRMC announces a strategic partnership with University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center (UHSCC) to offer world-class cancer care locally. The UHSCC at SRMC is launched to provide medical oncology services in the hospital’s recently expanded Cancer & Infusion Center.
